Avneet Mudhar shortlisted for Women in IT Awards

Congratulations to Avneet Mudhar, a Graduate Data Analyst in Watford, who has been shortlisted for the Graduate of the Year 2017 in the Women in IT Awards.

Avneet has been shortlisted from over 700 entries, a victory in itself, with judges looking at standout achievements, contributions to successful projects and innovation.

Upon graduating with a MSc in Crime Science, Avneet joined Salmon’s, a Wunderman Commerce Company, Digital Intelligence team as a Data Analyst. This is a new and growing team at Salmon, created to help some of Europe’s leading brands interpret and action their customer data.

Avneet said: "Without a doubt technology can create business value. It’s one of the upmost important factors for improving business processes and/or industry structure. Technology is adapting and improving with the times and is key not only in making business more efficient but also in helping to formalise a structure to undertake everyday tasks.

In the Digital Intelligence team we have been able to learn and utilise a range of different technological tools that have aided and supported our daily tasks. For example, we analyse data for a range of clients from multiple different sources and over many different periods of time, which can be a time-consuming task. For this reason, we have invested in tools that are able to speed this process up in a more efficient way. We use tools such as R, SPSS and Alteryx to transform the data we have from many different sources into valuable insight. We still need to use human input in this process, however by analysing it with a tool we are able to spend more time looking for insights."

Chris Longman, Head of Digital Intelligence at Salmon, said: “Since joining Salmon, Avneet has worked with some of our biggest clients. Her enthusiasm and commitment has been crucial in helping them to truly understand their customers. Her knowledge of data modelling has provided Salmon with a competitive edge and helped guide the company on what the future of data analysis will look like. I’m confident that Avneet will go on to achieve incredible things as she continues to reveal the customer insight needed to power successful businesses”

Jaspal Lall, Web Content Co-ordinator at DFS, said: “Avneet has been particularly helpful in analysing the layout of our Contact US & FAQ's pages recently. Her contribution to implementing a feedback widget, alongside providing and explaining user session recordings has given us an alternative look into our customers thought processes, their current online behaviours and how we can make changes to improve their journeys”.

We wish Avneet all the best and eagerly await the awards ceremony taking place on the 31st January at Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane.
