Salmon Hackathon delves into future commerce
On Wednesday 25 th November teams from across Salmon, a Wunderman Commerce Company, took part in the first customer challenge hackathon where real ecommerce challenges were hit head-on in an eight hour period. A range of graphic designers, developers and customer experience experts spent the day brainstorming collaboratively on a number of topics including:
- New ways to capture and display ratings and reviews
- Using voice recognition for ecommerce
- New Google SEO interface
- Exploiting trending data to increase conversion
Glen Burson, CTO at Salmon commented: “Creativity fuels what Salmon does. These hackathons are key in helping us create and deliver innovative solutions for leading brands around the world. We hope to be trailing and implementing several of these initiatives with our clients over the coming months.
Sarah Parker, Front End Team Lead, responsible for organising the day said: “The aim wasn’t just to develop great ideas, the day also facilitated team building and encouraged creative thinking.”
The Salmon customer challenge Hackathon is set to be a regular event and will complement the Salmon innovation labs where teams from across Salmon investigate new technologies and devices that are set to impact commerce in the near future.
