Wunderman Thompson Commerce shortlisted at the Retail Week Awards 2021 with Lever Direct
Following a record number of entries, we’re elated to hear that we have been shortlisted for our work with Lever Direct in The Customer Experience Award category at the Retail Week Awards 2021. This year’s awards are dedicated to recognising the phenomenal effort of the retail industry, the individuals and frontline heroes who really went above and beyond to help keep the nation going during the pandemic.
The shortlisting recognises the combined efforts of both parties to deliver a new website Leverdirect.co.uk in less than six weeks, to help families in the community with their homecare and laundry needs during the pandemic.
With grocery shelves empty and supermarket delivery slots difficult to obtain, the website was launched to deliver the Lever brands Cif, Domestos, Persil and Comfort, direct to consumers doors, with free delivery.
In support of the founder Lord Lever, whose ambition it is to reduce the businesses environmental impact by half by 2030, the site was designed taking this into consideration. Consumers are encouraged to buy bundles of essential homecare kits allowing consumers to save money, save time and save the environment though fewer deliveries, and using formats that allowed more washes and less packaging.
The initiative has outperformed the initial expectations and has delivered a wealth of insight for the Unilever business to use going forward.
