B2B consumers expect same PERSONALISATION AS B2c CONSUMERS

Staples India is an exclusive licensee of the Staples Brand and is India’s largest company in office products. It serves businesses across various segments and helps companies save on budget by tracking consolidated spends on single platforms, creating visibility and control whilst driving economies of scale.

In 2014 Staples India contacted Salmon to implement an Intershop 7.4 Platform and to build a new B2B and B2C consumer website for the Indian market. The site now supports most of the standard customer touch-points, including desktop, laptop, tablets, mobile apps, sms, emails, newsletters and more. The following year we finished the implementation of the features set below:

  • Onboarding of new business customers having specific contract and price at the click of a button.
  • Self-service portal for B2B consumers for direct access to manage spends and accounts.
  • Migration of existing B2B integration consumers, stores integration with ERPm CRM, logistics and payment gateway.

Overall, we were responsible for consultancy, project management, analysis, solution architecture, development, quality assurance, load and security testing, infrastructure, WSO2 enterprise service bus, ERP Interfacing, CRM and operational and technical training & warranty.

10 months after kick-off and consumerisation of B2B, both stores were released in the live site. Within one month of going live, Staples could onboard 7,000 active B2B consumers.

Intershop highlighted this outstanding success story in their press release of June 2015.

In August 2016 the website of staples.in migrated to the current Workstore site.

With deep product knowledge, Salmon implemented a complex set of business rules and requirements on a new Intershop 7.4 platform.
