Title: Lead Insight Analyst

Dept: Customer Insight and Activation

How did you start working with us?

I didn’t come through the typical STEM route, having done a Masters in Crime Science before starting my job with VML. I met the recruitment team at a graduate fair, loved what they had to say and started on the VML graduate programme the day after I handed in my dissertation! I’ve now been with the company for over 4 years, I’ve worked with numerous clients and teams and I am very proud to say I have been promoted twice during this time and now hold a lead role in my team.

What have you learnt?

I’ve learnt so much on the way, working with very talented people and developing in my career. Doing my masters was challenging and required lots of work and dedication, but the motivation and perseverance I put into my degree has helped me on projects I have been working on as I dig into the data and find insight and solutions. My degree was analytical and required problem-solving and decision making, something I do almost every day when working with data and supporting clients. I really enjoy the variety of work and projects. Being able to come in and work on a new project or for a new client is very exciting! It can of course be challenging at times, but by prioritising my work I have learnt to juggle different projects at the same time. I have developed so many new skills since joining, especially in my new lead role, but I have never felt alone on my journey. I have had some great mentors in my team and the company have supported me in my desire to progress my career.

I’ve completed numerous courses to support both my professional and personal development. One of my career highlights to date was when I was a finalist in the Women in IT awards, which showed how much the company value me and the work I have done with our clients.

Why VML?

Well, there are so many opportunities to work in different business areas and learn new things about eCommerce and the overall business. I love keeping up with the new technological changes as the data and tech industry is always adapting and evolving, nothing stays the same for long and eCommerce is the future for everyone!

But it isn’t just the work I love, we have lots of social events at all our offices which are always fun, enjoyable and a great way to get to know other people. The People at VML are definitely one of the reasons I love working here.
